MDF (Medium Density Fibreboard): A manufactured wood which is made by compressing fine wood fibres with glue and heat to form a smooth, solid board.
Melamine: A form of plastic resin. In construction, melamine laminate is used as an overlay for sheet materials such as MDF, giving it a smooth and attractive appearance.
Mitre Joint: The joining together of two pieces of wood, usually but not necessarily, 45 degrees . A picture frame is a typical example.
